Adding an SSL certificate to Fortimail
To add an SSL certificate to Fortimail follow the steps below.
1. As shown in the image below, select System/Certificate. Then select “Local Certificate” and “Generate” on the right.

2. Fill in the fields shown below correctly. The most important point: enter the exact Domain name for which you will obtain the SSL certificate. Example: mail.xxx.com. Choose Key Size 2048.
3. Select the generated certificate, click the “Download” link, and use the downloaded codes as the CSR for the certificate issuance. Meanwhile the certificate will remain in “Pending” state.
4. Paste the codes received from your SSL provider into a TEXT file and change the file extension to “.key”. Then “import” as shown and finally set this certificate as the default certificate. Fortimail will then work over HTTPS without errors.
